Bauer & Tommie Bauer Racing Take On International 500 in Saul St. Marie
After their victory at the Kinross 250 in late January, Cody Bauer and Tommie Bauer Racing made the trek to the United States and Canada border this past week for the 56th Running of the International 500 Snowmobile Race, powered by Wheeler Trucking.
The action began with qualifying from Wednesday to Friday, setting the starting grid for Saturday’s 500-lap feature race. Team #19, representing Bauer Racing, secured a solid ninth-place starting position via time trials.
Race-day on Saturday saw Bauer sharing driving duties with Tyler Nickles, Luke Krentz, and Ryan McCaig. The team quickly found their rhythm, making a strong push toward the front of the pack. By the halfway point, they had climbed to third place. As the laps counted down, Tommie Bauer Racing surged ahead to take the lead on lap 390.
Despite a valiant effort from all drivers representing the #19 banner, significant damage to the track on the sled forced the team to make an early exit on lap 414. Ultimately, they finished 19th.
